Every year, the global temperature is supposed to increase naturally because of human
activity and other physical parameters. Through different approaches, scientists were able to
predict with accuracy the growth rate of the global temperature. However, since the last 20
years, the global temperature started increasing in an unpredictable manner. In fact, the
climate on earth is increasingly hotter. In addition, scientists state that the growth rate of the
global temperature for the last ten years is the most important and still increasing
(Environmental Protection Agency, 2014). This phenomenon is called global warming and is
at the center of the current major environmental debates. Taking into consideration the
importance of this threat, governments and worldwide institutions developed politics and
strategies aiming at countering global warming and reducing its consequences. This paper
discusses the dangers of global warming for the earth and its living population along with the
role that the government and individuals can do to stop it.
Global warming is responsible for several natural disasters, especially this last ten
years. Everywhere on earth the local weather has changed or is changing. These changes are
characterized by extreme heat waves, droughts, and heavier rains (Environmental Protection
Agency, 2014). Recent researches concluded that the rising temperature on earth worsens
climate conditions. All these consequences represent extremely important threats to the earth.
