9.3 Human Factors Brief: Cognitive Coupling and Workload Analysis for Decisions (PLG1)
In several activities so far, you have approached the issue of human-machine interactions. This might involve programs, automation protocols, or other applications. For more critical or sensitive decision points, the system architecture gravitates toward either a human or machine-derived decision response, often with veto opportunity. What this invites is a situation where a collaborative decision may not be feasible, often found in distributed cognition systems. Working further into a cognitive or neural system, there is the learning component, both for the humans and the system, that present dynamic views and changing priorities based on experience. One of the challenges to the human factors engineer or specialist is in resolving any potential conflicts that might occur in the independent streams of thinking. If you were tasked to work with a team to develop a system that could include generated outcomes for decisions crafted with conditional reasoning, explain how you would structure an approach you might offer the team. Essentially, you would be suggesting how to accommodate conditional reasoning where human users are coupled with machine agents. A related issue here is that of the cognitive workload in this process. While your knowledge of this area may be limited at this time, you will find an example in the NASA Task Load Index tool. For now, include what benefits may be gained by applying a cognitive workload analysis as you develop your approach. Provide at least one scholarly resource to support your approach.Present this as a brief. Your brief should be approximately 800 words in length and should be written in APA format.

Grand Canyon University Social and Cultural Diversity Annotated Bibliography
Hello, This is Part 2 of this big paper you will be writing for me. You already did part 1 last week. It was for the assignment titled "Social & cultural diversity paper outline."Refer to “Social and Cultural Paper Instructions” for a detailed explanation of the requirements for the Social and Cultural Diversity Paper that you will be developing throughout the course. This assignment is divided over the course of several topics. The attached document includes all parts of the assignment. For this assignment, prepare an Annotated Bibliography that includes the sources you will be citing in the paper. Your annotation must include a paraphrased summary of the resource. Refer to the Purdue Owl Annotated Bibliography resource in the Topics material folder for guidelines on annotation and examples of annotated bibliographies. In addition to the textbook, the bibliography must include a minimum of eight total scholarly resources (two for each section of the paper). Additional resources may be added and used as necessary. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required. Walden University Coding of the First Interview and Second Interview Workshop
As Patton so rightly said, “[Y]ou don’t want to wait until you’ve collected your data to figure out your analysis approach” (2015, pp. 527). You had some hands-on experience with this in RSCH 8310, in which you practiced hand-coding using two or more strategies described in Saldaña’s (2016) book. Therefore, you focus here on the strategic aspects of planning your analysis. There are many ways to approach building your analysis plan.Reconnect with your approach: Revisit methodological books and articles and published research that uses the approach you proposed. Use these as guidelines for deciding where and how to start the analysis process.Connect your approach to your sample: Revisit why you chose the participants you did. What does your approach require in terms of information-rich cases for analysis? Were you considering intensity sampling to saturate a phenomenon? Diversity sampling to examine common experiences across diverse demographic or geographic criteria? Your analysis strategy must align with your approach and sampling purpose.Be willing to be wrong: The phenomenological technique of epoche (also known as bracketing) is a helpful way to make visible all of your pre-existing notions and plans of what you hope to find by making a transcript or written document prior to beginning the data analysis. Compare this document against your analyses to make sure you are discovering new insights, unpredicted findings, and discrepancies; proving that “you were right” is not the purpose of your study. In this Workshop, you will describe your analysis plan.By Day 3Post responses to the following:Restate your research question, your chosen approach, and your sampling plan.Identify the key elements of data analysis that are consistent with your chosen approach to propose your analysis plan. Be sure to cite sources specific to your approach as well as your textbooks.Choose one coding method and code both interviews. Indicate the codes in the text of the transcript or summary. You can use Excel or Word. Attach this document to your post.
