these colonies existed around 1975.they were british colonies which were found towards the east coast of north America.they stretched from from new England to the northern border of the Floridas (British west and rast.they had similarities in their political,legal systems and consitutional.protection of their rights as Englishmen was a key issue to discusss especially the principle of no taxatuon without representation.benjamin franklin began promoting a sense of of American identity.all the colonies developed a  high degree of self-government this allowed most of the whitemen to vote for local and legislative officials this led to prosperity and high growth rates due to immigration from britain and germany.the government of britain administered the colonies for the benefit of the mother countryVirginia, the Carolinas and Georgia retained slaves for plantation farming.these colonies fought the american revolutionary war .and later formed the united states of america.
