New United Motor Manufacturing incorporation was a car manufacturing company that
was started due to a union between General Motors of the United States of America and Toyota
Motors of Japan in Fremont California, North America. It came about in1984 where the General
Motors had problems leading to low sales and poor car manufactures. The main focus of General
Motors was to continue having control in the market while Toyota Motors wanted to sell cars
during the restrictions period. It was unique that companies that were great rivals came under one
umbrella. Initially, NUMMI was funded by both companies to commence operation. When it
was stated, it became the world’s largest car manufacturing company but did not last forever.
These are some of the lessons the paper has covered from its rise and the reasons why General
Motors could not continue dominating such a successful partnership with the best rival company.
Some of the reasons that led to an increase in the production of NUMMI cars include
