IMPORTANCE OF SOLAR USAGE IN REDUCTION OF WATER POLLUTION
Research Topic: Impacts of Solar Usage on Water Pollution Reduction in Florida, United
States
States of America
Abstract
Due to predicted fossils fuels shortage and other non-renewable sources of energy, recent
researches are dedicated to looking for better alternatives. These options are called renewable
sources of energy. Renewable sources of energy efficiently use natural resources such as wind,
sunlight, tides, rains and geothermal heat as a source of green energy. If the use of renewable
energy sources is not explored exhaustively, the current generation may be living at the expense
of future generations. Renewable energy also known as green energy sources is the only remedy
for climate change and the environmental pollution being experienced worldwide. Nonrenewable sources of energy are getting depleted at an alarming rate, at given that they are the
highest contributor to water pollution, green energy like solar energy remains the best alternative
to these biofuels. This paper explores how solar energy use presents a better alternative for nonrenewable resources and how its utilization would reduce water pollution in Florida and the
entire world. The paper will attempt to explain why solar energy is better for the environment
and also verify how its usage would positively impact on the economy.
Introduction
Environmental pollution is one of the major problems affecting countries globally.
Environmental pollution has resulted in climate change; which is the adjustment of the
ecosystem. Climate change is particularly influenced by changes in the factors that affect
patterns of the climate. Climate change phenomenon has presented great environmental risks and
threats that the world is currently facing. Persistent activities of human beings such as continuous
use of fossil fuels and their exploitation have resulted in environmental degradation which has
led to water pollution. The solution to climate change which is particularly caused by
environmental pollution dictates that the world energy systems must drastically change to help
combat dangers the climate change poses to the whole world. Environmental pollution can be in
the form of air pollution, water pollution and land pollution (Gupta & Tiwari, 2016). There are
different impacts of pollution on the environment, and the most evident impact is the
increasingly changing climate. In the United States of America, environmental pollution has
been a topic of debate in the newspapers and televisions, as different groups of people have come
up to try and find a solution to this global challenge. Although some of the policies and plans
that have been implemented have worked, there is still a chance for others to ideas on how to
reduce pollution. In Florida State, water pollution is one of the lead ing forms of pollution. In this
research, I will discuss ways in which implementing solar usage in the city will help reduce
water pollution.
Background
The world has been looking for the better alternatives of energy for the last fifty years,
where fossil fuels power and run machines have been a focal point of many types of research.
For example, in 1957 journal article on “Photovoltaic A Path to Sustainable Futures,’’ Pierce
Joshua observes that since 1957, the demand of electricity in the United States has spontaneously
increased to more than 450 percent while the population of the United States has just increased
by half which shows that the demand of electricity have thoroughly increased. It is estimated that
in the next 70 or 50 years fossils fuels will be depleted. This is a worrying figure, this means for

the next 50 years countries who are industrialized will no longer have found to find for their
populations. Which prompts the need for change which means renewable energy such as solar
energy is the only logical answer. According to Green Peace India, renewable energy is a
sustainable source of energy that’s naturally come to the environment. Clean energy is the
energy that does not contribute to the pollution of the environment. These energies such as solar
energy do not emit harmful substances to the environment like carbon, radiation or there is
degradation of the environment through extractive processes. This means that renewable energy
can be continuously taken from the environment naturally which does not affect the normal
biosphere activities. Energy like solar energy is being considered for posterity because of these
useful benefits it poses to the envir...
