b) we first find the derivative of f(x) which is f'(x)= -6x-18 and equate to zero.

-6x-18=0

-6x=18, divide both sides by -6.

x=18/-6

x=-3 which is the value of x for which the maximum value occur.

c) f(-3) will give the function's maximum value.

f(-3)= -3(-3)^2 - 18(-3) - 25

f(-3)= -27 - -54-25

f(-3)= 2
