g(x)= -3x^2 - 18x - 25
a.) Does the funtion have a maximum or minimum value?
b.) Where does the minimum or maximum value occur?
c.) What is the functions minimum or maximum value?
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
a) the function has a maximum value.
b) we first find the derivative of f(x) which is f'(x)= -6x-18 and equate to zero.
-6x=18, divide both sides by -6.
x=-3 which is the value of x for which the maximum value occur.
c) f(-3) will give the function's maximum value.
f(-3)= -3(-3)^2 - 18(-3) - 25
f(-3)= -27 - -54-25
