Grady & Rabin (2019) explains the complications of breast implants to women. Women
undergo breast implant for different reasons. Some of the reasons include to make breasts bigger,
to bring back the volume of breasts after a pregnancy or breastfeeding, reconstruction of breasts
after an injury or mastectomy and to make asymmetric breasts even. For reconstruction reasons,
an implant is inserted in the patient’s body. Usually, a cut is done in the armpit, beneath the
breast or around the areola whereby a pocket is made and the implant inserted. It has been
estimated that around 400,000 women in the USA undergo breast implant of which 300,000 are
due to reasons related to cosmetic and 100,000 are for reconstruction purposes after mastectomy
for prevention or treatment of breast cancer (Grady & Rabin, 2019). All over the world,
