Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

2x + 3y = 8

Solution :

When we apply as per the given set of values

a)    x  =  1   and   y  =  2

       2x + 3y = 8

      (2*1) + (3*2) = 8

       2 + 6 = 8

        8 = 8

b)   x  =  6   and   y  =  4

      2x + 3y = 8

     (2*6) + (3*4) = 8

     12 + 12 = 8

     24  = 8  (wrong because 24 is not equal to 8)

c)    x  =  7   and   y  =  -2

       2x + 3y = 8

      (2*7) + [3*(-2)] = 8

       14 - 6 = 8

       8 = 8

Answer :

The ordered pairs are  i)   (1,2)

                                      ii)    (7,-2)
