Introduction
Over the years, art has been used as a strong tool for passing messages in society. One
form of art which has been commonly exploited as a means of communication is a parody. In art,
art is used in a comical manner, but the intention is to pass a strong message over issues

women and minorities in the society. In this paper, we shall analyze two artistic images and
review how each of the two connects with the different movements of the 1960s and 1970s.
