When organizations include the principles of project management to the development and
implementation of their information systems project, they have a greater chance of the
accomplishing their various objectives. One of the goals that can be attained through this
approach is changes to the organizational systems and processes in ways to improve their
efficiency and the contribution to prevention of risks and liabilities. Some of the changes that
could occur include the streamlining of procedures, system automation, redesigning of business
processes, and the introduction of new workflow management practices. Also, the use of the
elements of project management to the management of the information systems used by
companies for achieving their corporate goals can accomplished through the analysis of the
appropriate software development methodologies for attaining the same objectives. It is the
premise that informs the decision of IT project managers to align the processes for the
completion of their projects with the strategies for organizational performance and success.
