The Health Information Exchange (HIE) is a process that electronically moves health
information among healthcare systems and maintains the meaning of the information being
exchanged. The goal of the system is to facilitate providers to access and retrieve data so as to be

with the analyzing of a target population’s health. Different states in the United States have taken
