It has long been argued, particularly by conservatives, that there is a liberal bias in the mass media. On the other hand, progressives and liberals counter that conservative media has its own bias and that conservative media spends most of its time trying to invoke fear and division in the general public. With these two points of view in mind, please respond to the following question.
Assignment:
(1) How is the media, biased, more towards progressive-liberal values, conservative values or in both directions depending on the specific media outlets you may access? Explain your response.
(2) Find two or more examples of media bias (video clip, article, images) and attach to your Dropbox submission. Explain in detail how these example/s represent media bias and the impact that it has on public opinion. As part of your research and examination of media bias include recent polling data results showing the public’s confidence in the objectivity or fairness of the media. Provide an Internet citation for each polling source discussed.

Media bias takes place when the media reports in a way which crosses the standards of
professional journalism. There are several claims of media bias such as mainstream bias, liberal
bias, corporate bias, and conservative bias. Media professionalism has been in place for many
years. In 1956, a study conducted by the American National Election study found out that 66
percent of the citizens believed in the newspapers. A poll conducted in 1964 found out that 71
percent of the citizens found out that the network news was fair. According to the Gallup polls in
1997, most of the Americans don’t trust the mass media. The Citizens trust in the media has
dropped significantly. In 2008, the individuals who don’t have faith in the media had risen by
forty-five percent. A 59 percent of individuals in 2013 reported a perception of media bias with
forty six percent of those individuals claiming the media was too liberal, while thirteen percent
claimed it was too conservative. The bias perception was highest among the conservatives. The
trust in the media changed once more in the year 2016. The existence of a powerful and
independent news media establishment is a historical anomaly. Most writers have tried explaining
the decline in the journalists` standards.
