Call the speed of the first train v.

We know that the first train travelled v*11 in the first eleven hours plus v*3 in the last three hours

Also, we know that the diesel train is travelling at (v+55). And we know that it travelled (v+55)*3 in the three hours

Now we just need to equate the two distances:

(v+55)*3 = v*14

3v +165 = 14v

11 v = 165

v = 15 km/h
