Infectious diseases like polio or malaria (dengue fecer) can be live-threatening. If the person survives, his whole life is likely to be seriously affected and his physical development perpanently damaged.
Nutritional deficiencies can range from malnutrition and starvation right through to vitamin deficiencies leading to such serious problems as goitre or night blindness. Again this restricts the person's physical (and emotional development). Lack or deficiencies of sexual hormones during adolescence, can also damage a person;s physical development permanently.
Children of neglect or abuse show the great impact this emotional deprivation has, not only on the emotional level , but also on physical development: they lag behind in ability to walk, talk andt heir IQ is lower than normal.
