Why do teachers hate writing report cards?

In my point of view teachers avoid writing reports due to some of the following reasons:

  • Report cards are a massive and critical tool to generate some reflection on our teacher's practice
  • Report cards can be stories. They can tell the story of the transformation of the learner, your story as a teacher, and the story of the relationship you have fostered with the learner.
  • Report cards, just like any assessment tool of value, take a long time and force teachers to communicate effectively. 
  • Teachers often up to the wee hours of the night trying to meet deadlines, but at the end, teachers always find the process rewarding and positive
These are some of the reasons why teachers do not like to write report card.
