I received a very distressing e-mail from my friend, asking for prayers for his wife, who had been admitted to hospital with cancer. She had two small children and the photos of the family were heart-breaking. I immediately responded, offered sympathy and prayers for the wife's recovery.
Later I got a message saying that it was not his wife but his cousin's wife who had been admitted.
I had a close look at the photos again and saw two family photos. The misunderstanding had occurred because he had been asked to post the picture and message on behalf of his cousin, who was too upset to do this for himself.
The mix-up could have been avoided by stating specifically that he was e-mailing on behalf of his cousin!
