SELF-CONTROL AND SELF-MONITORING

Introduction
Self-control is a part of self-development. It is not influenced by external aspects.
Therefore, it can only be developed by a person internally. It plays a key role in influencing our
personality and how we interact and relate with others.
Snapshot report on the psych test
The results show that I scored 87%. Further, it reports that I should adjust my behavior to
fit the circumstances in social situations. Additionally, the results indicate that I am not the type
of person who acts on impulse decisions regardless of where I am or who I am with my daily
life. I often step back and consider the social consequences of my behavior before acting. The
report further comments that I have a very healthy social behavior. I agree with these results
since they show my true behavior and how I relate with others on different occasions. I have a
high ability of self-control and self-monitoring that helps me in adjusting my behavior.
Therefore, I am not an aggressive nor a non-compromising type while relating to others.
A time when I exercised self-control
I used to spend most of my leisure time playing video games with my friends. The
experience was getting addictive as began to emerge a pro in the game. This habit went on until I
realized it no longer consumed only my free time but also some of my working time. I could
compromise on doing a basic duty like house chores so that I could spare time with my gaming
colleagues. Further, I noticed a downward trend in my class performance since I barely had time
for personal studies and mostly slept with my mind ...
