Introduction
The Fighting Temeraire is one of the greatest and most famous oil paintings by an English
artist known as Joseph Mallord William Turner. The artist painted it back in 1838 and it was
exhibited at the Royal Academy in the year 1839. Joseph Turner was in his sixties when he got to
crseate this amazing painting. In the painting, he shows how well he had mastered his painting
techniques by how he defined the sea and the sky. The capturing sunset was a fanfare of color to
honor her (Fairbrother, pp. 349). To most, The Fighting Temeraire painting is a symbol that
represented the end of an era, with the sun setting on elegant days. The paint was a symbol of
victory. This painting was meant to pay tribute to the heroic past of the Temeraire’s.
