A car accelerated from 1.5 mph to some final velocity over 3.4 s. Then, going at this final velocity, the car traveled 3.8 miles over the course of the next 7.4 minutes.

v^2=u^2+2as

using first equation, v=1.5+3.4a,this v will be the initial velocity, u for the next 7.4 minutes so we use the second equation

s=ut+0.5at^2

3.8=(1.5+3.4a)0.123+(0.5*a*0.123^2)

3.8=0.1845+0.4182a+0.00756a

0.4258a=3.6155

a= 8.49 mps^2
