Billy Crystal spent three quarters of his life making people laugh. The awards winning
actor was born in 1948 in New York and his early life already revealed his comic personality as
he loved singing, dancing and acting to his family in the living room. Crystal graduated from the
University of New York with a degree in film and television direction in 1970. After graduation
he started up his comedy group with for friends while working as a substitute teacher. He later
decided to practice stand-up comedy alone in 1973. Since then, Crystal achieved greatly in the
acting and comedy industry in various television programs (Eldridge 1). This paper speaks about
Billy Crystals’ accomplishments in the theater works and the film industry in general.
Crystal, in his early life, had met several famous musicians and performers such as Billy
Holiday. He met most of the famous artists through his father who worked as a jazz acts booking
agent. Perhaps this was the time that he fell in love with acting. Even after his father’s death
while he was 15 years, he remained determined to perpetuate his father’s careers and embarked
