Need to calculate an hourly average for each hour of the day

I need to calculate an hourly average for a bunch of numbers that occurred at different dates and times throughout 2 years. I was able to get the overall average easy using the totals (total of numbers/17520 where 17520 = 365 days/yr * 2 yrs * 24 hrs/day or 6439/17520 = .37 hourly average. Now the tough part...I need to find the average for hour 00:00, 01:00 and so on through 23:00. Do I total the numbers in each hour (say 00:00) and still divide by 17520?

Here is my solution.

What you are going to do is add the data points in the hour and  find the number of data points in an hour . If for one hour you have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 you would take the sum which is 30 and divide it by 5, the number of data points. If you need more clarification let me know.

Don't be afraid to ask me any more questions.
