Standardization of data is very important in research. Without standardization there is NO set numbers to compare with. The purpose of standardization is to ensure that when the experiment or research takes place in the future the numbers gained can match the standardization of the initial. Obtaining a standardization allows you to always compare future data with that standardization to see if it is viable (useful). Tests like the SAT are standardized to allow Colleges to easily compare student scores. Thus, standardization of data is ideal for quality research.
