find the slope of the line passing through the points (a, -a+2) and (a+h, -(a+7h)+2)

Oct 14th, 2015

Hi there! Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

The slope of a line is given by (difference in y)/(difference in x)

difference in y = -(a+7h)+2 - (-a+2)= -a -7h +2+a-2 = -7h

difference in x = a+h - a = h

The ratio is -7h/h = -7

Please let me know if you need any clarification. Always glad to help!
