Hi I was wondering if you could help me out with this problem...

Change each number into scientific notation, then perform the indicated calculation without a calculator. Leave your answer in scientific notation.

A total of 64,000 megawatts are used over 800 hours. What is the rate in watts per hour?

The rate is b x 10^m watts per hour, where B= _ (I know this one is 8) and m=_

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

 64,000 megawatts = 6.4 * 10^4 mega watt = 6.4*10^10    as mega = 10^6

800 hours = 8*10^2

rate in watts per hour = (6.4*10^10 )/(8*10^2) = 0.8 *10^8 = 8*10^7 watt/ hour

so m is 7
