It is very important to know who you are writing to. For example if the purpose of an email is to ask how much it will take to install solar lighting in your house and your emailing a professional solar light company; you would not send an email explaining what solar lights are and how they work. Knowing who your audience is vital for sending an appropriate email. When you send an email to someone; you have to keep in mind what this person or company already knows; keep it concise and to the point.
