Crisis and emergency are two words which are closely related but indicate risks to very
dangerous situation which happen at a specific time. How they happen distinguishes both of them.
Crisis can be defined as a situation which is not stable while emergency is a situation which poses
danger or serious risk in life and also property. When an emergency happens it causes death of
many individuals and loss of property. There is a key difference between emergency and crisis in
that emergency requires serious intervention of the situation that has occurred while a crisis may
not require any serious handling of the situation.
A crisis is a difficult or unstable situation which can bring change but it doesn’t lead to
serious risks. It can cause some negative impacts which affect political, economic ,society and
security situation of a specific state (Graham, 2013). This state is not always expected by many
individuals hence it occurs unexpectedly in a given place. When it occurs it can cause serious
threats to the environment and also can obstruct the important goals set by various individuals.
They are often associated with the concept of stress because the situations caused are unstable but
in many rare cases they are hazardous. An example of crisis is where one can miss in a specific
meeting due to a serious crisis caused in the family. They can also be associated to the
psychological stress where in countries like china, it can be used to explain a situation of a danger.
Crisis can involve the family structure, society or even the economy.
