Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

This question can be done in two ways.

First, write the equation in the form y=mx+c, where m is the slope(gradient)

hence y=5x

slope=5

The coefficient of x, i.e. m gives the slope

Alternatively, you can make two points on the line. Use the two points to find the slope. The points should be in the form (x,y)

Hence, y=5x

when x=1, y=5. when x=2, y=10

Using the two points to find the slope gives

slope = (change in y)/(change in x)

=(10-5)/(2-1)

=5/1

=5
