Write an inequality that describes this scenario. Let the variable x represent the number of cookies that must still be baked to meet or surpass the goal

Oct 18th, 2015

Please complete the question"what is?" and i will answer in the comments below for the first question

The total number of cookies to be baked is 120. Let the number of additional cookies needed to meet or surpass the goal to be x.

In the first hour they baked; 12 cookies. To meet or surpass the goal we need; x≥(120-12)

In the second hour they baked 24 cookies.

Therefore, total number of cookies baked in the first and second hours is 36.

This means that we need (120 -36) more cookies to meet the goal and a greater number than (120 -36) to surpass the goal.

This is represented as x≥120-36

x≥84
