Walking is a movement on foot. This paper, therefore, seeks to explain the positive
effects of walking on physical health and wellbeing. Walking is, therefore, key to weight loss
hence if you want to stay physically fit then you got to do a lot of practice. Physical exercises cut
the risk of developing health problems such as heart failure cancer and even diabetes. Walking
also facilitates weight loss and human body maintenance thus doing greater good than bad hence
it is a practice carried out in our day to day practices.
Summary
Walking Facilitates Burning of Calories,
A calorie is an energy that is acquired from foods and drinks that we take or consume in
our bodies. Weight loss activities are therefore keen on reducing the number of calories in our
bodies. This is because we are living in a generation where we spend more hours seated in
offices rather than exercising hence the calories build up in our bodies in large amounts,
therefore, leading to weight gain. Health experts advise on burning more calories than we
consume which is very possible through walking as a daily practice. Running is a form of
walking that has proved to burn more calories in a rather short distance but experts major on
routes one may take. Walking on hilly routes and those with landslides has proved to do quite a
good job hence the percentage of calories burnt is slightly higher.
Walking Helps in The Preservation of Lean Muscle
Weight loss is often accompanied by muscle loss as well as body fats. Muscles are
generally metabolically active which is an advantage as they help you burn a considerable
percentage of calories as each day pass by. Walking, therefore, serves to control this vice as it
