Lossless compression technique uses data compression algorithm that warranties the original (same) data to reconstructed from the data compressed. Thus, its useful when a user needs the compressed data to be the same after reconstruction.

 Lossy compression technique does not allow an identical data to be reconstructed after compression. Itr is useful in internet applications. For example, media streaming.
