1. Generational conflict refers to situations where the ideas or beliefs from one generation
contradict with each other. In the movie Berlin Calling, this is evident in most scenes of the
movie. One of the instances where generation conflicts come up is where Ickarus works during
the day and parties during the night. This he does through the taking of drugs which keeps him
up all day and night (Fusion, 2017). The older generation and the culture of the German people
believe that you should work during the day and rest at night or the vice versa. The actions of
Ickarus including the taking of drugs and the acts of partying all night brings generational
conflicts in the movie.
2. Clubbing and music to the Germans seem to be the way of life as opposed to my American
culture where clubbing and music is part of leisure time. In the movie, we get the example of
Ickarus who is even hospitalized and is urged by the doctor to stop music for a while but can't
stop and continues with his music. According to my culture clubbing is done mostly on
weekends when individuals are away from work and want to relax a little bit.
3. The movie Berlin Calling and Ickarus music can be termed as an agent of change in the German
music where he was able to create a cult or a revolution through his music beat. His beats
included those of Techno, Minimal, Electronica, and Downbeat which became classic beats
both in Germany and entire Europe (Fusion, 2017). Regarding the fall of the Berlin wall is that
when the people of Germany decided to bring down the wall, the techno beat was being used
as a motivational factor for the revolutionists. His child...
