Hand-foot-and-mouth illness is an acute viral disease caused by a virus known as
Coxsackie. This disease threatens school going children in most cases. The disease was first
discovered in New Zealand in the year 1957. Some effects of this disease are mouth sores and
skin rash and have no specific vaccination or treatment
One of the common mouth diseases is a hand-foot-and-mouth illness. This is a placid,
communicable viral illness that is more widespread in kids (Sarma, 2013). This sickness is
featured by sores in the mouth and a lot of rashes on the feet and hands as well.
Hand-foot-and-mouth diseases were initially discovered in New Zealand in the year
1957. Daldorf and Sickless were the first scientists to discover this disease. Something else to
note here is that this disease is regarded as the earliest viral illness as it was reported in European
hieroglyphs in 1,400 BC (Flett et al., 2012). This illness was found to be caused by
coxsackievirus A16. Since coxsackievirus virus is part of the viruses known as nonpolio
enteroviruses, it does not have a vaccination.
In most cases, kids below five years are pretentious by this disease, though there are
