Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

7/4x - 5/2y =2

1/4x + 7/2y= 8

pick one equation and solve i.e:

1/4x + 7/2y = 8

1/4x = 8 - 7/2y

1/4x *4= 4(8 - 7/2y) remove the denominator

x= 32 - 14y

take the solved equation and replace x with it. i.e:

7/4x = 7/4(32-14y)

7/4(32-14y) - 5/2y = 2

56- 49/2y - 5/2y = 2

56 - 27y = 2

-27y= 2-56

-27y = -54

y = 2

x= 32- 14y

x= 32- (14*2)

x= 32- 28

x= 4

y=2, x= 4

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy and ready to answer your questions.
