Introduction
Nutritional assessment in children and adolescents is essential. It involves interpreting
data, to determine whether a person or a group of people are either nourished or malnourished. In
addition to helping the parents and caregivers understand their children’s health status, it helps
them seek advice where needed and monitor their children’s eating habits. Nutritional
assessment helps to recognize the nutritional needs of the individual, monitor them and take the
necessary measures to meet them (Nieman, 2019). Nutrition plays a significant role in
determining the quality of life in an individual; hence it is essential to assess its status regularly.
In this essay, I will discuss the four methods of nutritional assessment, which are commonly
