  • The Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Data Analytics/Data Mining in Healthcare IT
  • Standardized Terminologies in Documentation (SNOMED/LOINC)
  • Mobile Healthcare Information Technologies
  • Clinical Communications
  • Telehealth/Telemedicine
  • Human Technology Interface/Usability in Healthcare IT

Theoretical framework examples include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Graves and Corcoran’s Model
  • Sciwirian’s Model

  • Data/Information/Knowledge/Wisdom (DIKW) Model
  • Sociotechnical Theory
  • Rogers’s Diffusion of Innovation Theory
  • Lewin’s Change Theory
  • Information Theory
  • General-System Theory
  • Chaos Theory

Note: The theoretical framework will serve as the underlying foundation for the paper. Here, you are to demonstrate how it may be applied to a specific nursing informatics issue.

Using that topic and the theoretical framework or model, write a paper that must be between 3750 to 6000 words (15 to 20 pages) in narrative, not including the title and reference pages. This assignment is worth 25% of the final course grade.

The paper should follow APA format and include the following sections:

  • Abstract
  • Introduction

You suitably apply your theoretical or model framework to your topic and develop a rational analysis.

You haphazardly apply your theoretical or model framework to your topic and develop a cursory analysis.

You carelessly apply your theoretical or model framework to your topic and develop an inept analysis.

null

Content development

You use carefully chosen, authoritative, and compelling content that demonstrates mastery of your chosen theoretical framework; provide an advanced and thoughtful analysis of ideas; present an in-depth synthesis of ideas demonstrating insight and interpretation; and include appropriate references to readings wherever necessary.

You use appropriate and relevant content that demonstrates sufficient command of your chosen theoretical framework; provide a germane analysis of ideas; and include references to readings.

You use somewhat appropriate content that demonstrates limited command of your chosen theoretical framework; provide a cursory analysis of ideas that lacks insight and interpretation; and include minimal references to readings.

You use inappropriate and irrelevant content regarding your chosen theoretical framework, provide little, if any, analysis, and do not include references to readings.

null

Organization

You implement a coherent, observable organizational pattern (specific abstract, introduction, and conclusion, sequenced material within the body, and transitions) that effectively elucidates the content of the paper.

You implement a generally observable organizational pattern (specific abstract, introduction, and conclusion, sequenced material within the body, and transitions) that successfully explains the content of the paper.

You implement a somewhat observable organizational pattern (specific abstract, introduction, and conclusion, sequenced material within the body, and transition) that inconsistently explains the content of the paper.

You implement an incoherent organizational pattern (lacking specific abstract, introduction, and conclusion, sequenced material within the body, and transition) that inadequately explains the content of the paper.

null

Evidence

You effectively support points and subpoints with abundant clarifying detail, include relevant and clearly attributed sources as necessary, and effectively link ideas; comprehensive evidence extends ideas and fully authenticates the thesis of the paper.

You support points and subpoints with sufficient detail, attribute sources as necessary, and link ideas; evidence relates to the thesis of the paper.

You support points and subpoints with limited detail and improperly link ideas at times; most evidence does not relate to the thesis of the paper.

You inadequately support points and subpoints with irrelevant detail and do not properly link ideas; little, if any, evidence relates to the thesis of the paper.

null

Sources and documentation

You clearly and effectively document sources of information using in-text citations linked to more than 10 references at the end of the paper; APA format is complete and entirely accurate.

MOBILE HEALTHCARE I.T

Introduction
The health care of any Nation is one part that is taken seriously. This is because if not, the entire
nation would not even move forward on its day to day activities. It is also important to underline
the fact that the healthcare sector is one which plays a pivotal role in society.
To be fully functional and in the process fulfil its required duties, the healthcare sector has to be
supported by some factors. It is also these factors that determine the growth of the healthcare
sector and how it evolves. In its evolution, the healthcare sector has witnessed a lot of transitions,
and many of these have been spearheaded by technology (Machado, In Abelha, In Santos & In
Portela, 2018).
This paper will aim to focus more on mobile healthcare information technologies. This is one
development that the healthcare sector has witnessed in the recent years, and this is because if
the fact that it has been spearheaded by technologies and therefore becoming one of the
brainchild developments that technology has brought into this sector.
While at it, this paper will aim to address and elaborate more on all the relevant optics relating to
mobile healthcare information technologies with the help of a theory that is relevant in its skin.
The theory that will help in shedding light on mobile healthcare information systems will be the
theory of Diffusion of Innovations.
What is Mobile Healthcare Information Technologies?
As it was mentioned earlier in the introduction, the healthcare sector, in both structure and
operations, has witnessed a lot of changes in the recent years and one of this is the mobile
healthcare system. In a simple explanation, Mobile Healthcare Information Technologies is the

incorporation of mobile technology, into how the traditional healthcare operations are conducted
with the sole aim of making everything easier.
How did it arise?
With the world being swept off its feet by the wave of technology, it was only a matter of time
before the healthcare sector got affected. This came in the form of mobile IT that is being
discussed in this paper. The entire world built itself around mobile technology, and this was
because of the fact that it offered a lot of conveniences.
Coupled with innovations, there came the idea of using the already popular mobile technology to
incorporate it do the normal activities that the average human being was using. As at the time of
the inception of this idea, mobile technology was being used to perform a number of basic
functions, and this included;

Communication-It was used to communicate, and as the time of the inception of mobile
healthcare information technology, this had become full-blown human reliability, and this
is why it even played a key role in this innovation from the moment it began to what it is
to date.

Banking-People had already trusted mobile technology to transact on their behalf. One of
the reasons that made it even more popular is the ease within which every complicated
thing was being done was commendable.

Entertainment-As at the time of conceiving the idea of using mobile IT in the healthcare
sector, there were many people who had found a way of entertaining themselves using
the same mobile IT. What this made sure is the fact that when healthcare could also get
on board, everything became even more convenient for them (Rajkumar, 2018).

Business- This is the main part and pillar that supported the idea of using mobile IT in the
healthcare sector, and this is because of the fact that it is this arm of operations that was
reciprocated in the healthcare sector.
Many people say that if mobile information technology could make the average business
happen, and do so in a very smooth and seamless manner, so could this be reflected in the
HealthCare sector. In the end, it played a key role in the innovation on the healthcare side
of things.

With these kinds of services being made easier by mobile technology, it was only a matter of
time and due to necessitation for mobile technology to come into the healthcare sector, which I
also another key element in the very existence if the human being.
This, in short, is the reason as to why and how the mobile information technology got away into
the healthcare sector and consequently ended up becoming a game-changer. The following
statement will be justified throughout this paper while at the same time making it as
comprehensive and relevant, as possible (Perego, Rahmani & TaheriNejad, 2018).
The reasons that led to the success of the idea of mobile information technologies, will be
explained in the later stages if this paper, but most importantly, it is worthy of underlining the
fact that all this can also be explained using the theory mentioned in the previous parts of this
paper and that was Rogers’s Diffusion of Innovation Theory.
How does mobile healthcare information technology work?
As it was explained earlier, this is the incorporation of mobile technology, into how the
traditional healthcare operations are conducted with the sole aim of making everything easier. It
is therefore impo...
