Subliminal perception of complex visual stimuli is a study by Mihai Radu Ionescu. The
problem of the study is the subliminal perception of complex visual stimuli. The hypothesis of
the research is that the perception of a variety of sensory modalities is a viable subject of
research through its effect and function are uncertain. The study is based from an earlier study
that was carried out by Sidis on The Psychology of Suggestion in which he suggested that there is
a secondary sub-waking in an individual that perceives elements that the primary waking self
cannot. The study involved the use of videos that had slideshows of complex images with the
relevant frames of different durations being scattered and were presented to twenty-four healthy
volunteers. The perceived stimulus was evaluated using a forced-choice questionnaire and
awareness was quantified by self-assessment, and each question had a modified awareness sale at
the top with four categories of awareness. The summary states that random answers regarding
the stimulus were received at 16.66ms of stimulus duration, and they did not achieve conscious
awareness. Unconscious awareness of the stimulus was experienced at 50ms where nonrandom
