Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

6812 minutes =

60* 6812 seconds = 408720 seconds

= 4.0872 * 10^5 seconds

2. 0.0025600007 km/hr

to metres per second =

0.0025600007 * 1000/ 3600 sec

=7.111 * 10^-4 m/s

okay so... i understand the math behind it... but how do you know which units to convert to? so for the first one for example you converted minutes to seconds.. or the second one how do you know to go from KM/HR to minutes per second?

The units to guide one is SI units.

For example the si unit for speed is meters per second

For time the Si unit is Seconds

For energy the Si unit is Joules
