A three phase induction motor with "Design A" characteristics has the motor name plate details are as follows:

RATING 250 kW

VOLTAGE 3300 V

POLES 8

CURRENT 55.2 A

SPEED 727 rev/min

CONNECTION STAR

FREQUENCY 50 Hz

NEMA DESIGN A

When Tested the following results were recorded:

VNL = 3300 V,  INL = 12.29 A,   PNL = 12.05 k W

Locked Rotor TEST

f = 12.5 Hz, VLR = 307 V, ILR = 55.2 A, PLR = 18.21 kW

Resistance TEST

VDC = 108.2 A, IDC = 55.2 A

(i) Draw the IEEE equivalent circuit with all parameter shown; [5 Marks]

Calculate:

(ii) the equivalent circuit parameters values and show on model; [15 Marks]

(iii) at full load the input Power Factor PF using the equivalent circuit model; [10 Marks]

(iv) the full load efficiency of the motor; [10 Marks]

(v) the full load output torque of the motor in Newton Metres. [10 Marks]
