My classmate's response:
One artifact with Arthurian origins that comes to my mind is the portrayal of the holy grail. Allegedly, the holy grail had miraculous powers that provided happiness and eternal youth to anyone who drank from it. Nowadays, the term is used more generally to describe any object or goal that is searched for due to the object's significance. "Holy grails" nowadays can refer to anything from plot points in movies to cures sciences are searching for.
