Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

Let H = the number of hotdogs Jim sells

Let S = the number of steak sandwiches Jim sells

Then,

H + S = 985

and

2.95H + 9.95S = 7343.75

S = 985 - H

Now substitute

2.95H + 9.95(985 - H) = 7343.75

2.95H + 9800.75 - 9.95H = 7343.75

-7H = -2457

H = 351 hotddogs

S = 985 - 351 = 634 steak sandwiches

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
