Length = 2a + 5

Width = 3


First expression is the area of the rectangle = length x width = 3(2a + 5)

Expand it using distributive property=> a(b + c) = ab + ac

3(2a + 5) = 3x2a + 3x5 = 6a + 15 

is the second equivalent expression.


ANSWER: 3(2a + 5) and 6a + 15
