Displacement is defined to be the change in position of an object.

Mathematically displacement is the difference between the initial/starting point of an object to the current/final position of the object. Displacement is a vector. This means it has a direction as well as a magnitude and is represented visually as an arrow that points from the initial position to the final position.

what is the total displacement of a trip in which a person travels 5km (s) and then 28km (W)?

From pythogerous theorem, total displacement is 28.442Kms

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

a= 5

b = 28

c = 28.442
