CUNY Hostos My Experience Social Upbringing Issues in Society Argumentative Essay
DIRECTIONS:PART ONE: Please read the two articles that are attached to the assignment. After you read the two articles, please answer all 11 questions in a Word document that are based on the articles. This is an individual assignment.QUESTIONS BASED ON THE ARTICLESHow does Staples in the article, “Just Walk on By: Black Men and Public Space,” describe himself? How is he perceived by others?Staples begins his essay by discussing the effect of his presence on another person. However, others’ reactions to his presence affect him in return, andhe spends much of the essay explaining the emotional and practical effects he experiences as a consequence of his interactions. How is the complication and paradox of these situations expressed by the last sentence about Staples’ whistling classical music being the “equivalent of the cowbell that hikers wear when they know they are in bear country” (paragraph 12)?How does Ortiz Cofer in the article, “The Myth of the Latin Woman: I Just Met a Girl Named Maria,” describe herself? How is she perceived by others? What do the two articles have in common if anything? The person with whom you find yourself identifying in a story sometimes depends on your own identity. With whom did you identify at the start of Staples’ essay and Ortiz Cofer’s essay, and how did it affect your reading of the full piece? Are Staples and Ortiz Cofer describing stereotyping, discrimination, or racism? Explain. As New Yorkers, particularly from the Bronx or Harlem or Washington Heights, we all like to think that we are open minded. However, how do you view young teenagers of color when you are walking or seeing them on the corner or on the subway, especially if you are alone?Describe a situation where you found yourself stereotyping a person or group of people. Were you surprised by your own ability to stereotype people? Are there any connections to Ortiz Cofer’s growing up Latina, particularly Puerto Rican and your experiences growing up Latina in New York? (Latina women only answer the question)Has anything changed in terms of perception of the majority culture towards those of us who are Black and/or Latino/Latina? If so, what?As a future manager, what specific lessons have you learned from these two articles?DIRECTIONSPART TWO:Based on your responses, type a reflective essay on questions #7, #8, #9, and #11. FORMATThe assignment is an essay, which means that you are typing a report in a separate Word document. Please follow the correct formatting of a report using the MLA format. The link to the MLA format is: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/mla_style/mla_formatting_and_style_guide/mla_general_format.htmlYou must include a title for your essay. Your essay must have a point of view. You are not just simply answering questions. You are typing a reflective essay in which you have read two articles and answered questions raised in the essay. REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE TYPING A REFLECTIVE ESSAY AND NOT A RESEARCH PAPER. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE A WORKS CITED PAGE.The essay must be up to THREE PAGES. The paper can be typed fewer than three pages. Anything typed on the fourth page, I will not read.Submit the Final Individual Assignment via the Assignment link by 11 P.M. MONDAY, MAY 10, 2021.

Three Solution Strategies
There are two parts of this discussion board: Part One: Write down your research question in a center of a page, circle it,
and jot down around it ideas triggered by the question. Write down the
types of information, choices, tasks, and actions you will need to take
in order to answer the question. Once you complete this visual map,
review it with a practical eye and consider what is doable within the
context of your own professional and personal circumstances (Efron &
Ravid, 2013, p.82). Using your brainstorm map, identify three ideas that you would like
to develop as potential solutions that you think would be worth trying
for addressing your question. Take a picture or scan your map to include
with your paper in part two. Part Two: In 3-4 paragraphs, briefly describe and discuss three possible
solutions (actions you might take) to the problem or issue you have
selected for the focus of your AR. Your solutions should be based on the
literature and original thoughts regarding possible actions or
solutions. The solutions you present must be solutions that, from all
appearances, could be used in the type of site where you are conducting
your research. For example, you might find that a school in California
tried a strategy related to your problem or issue. You believe the
solution used in California could be used in your setting, so you
include it in your proposal as a possible solution or strategy to
implement. You will evaluate each possible solution in light of your
work setting and fit with your AR question. What if through
all of your research you don’t find solutions that you feel will work
perfectly in your current situation? You are also free to devise
strategies that have not been tried elsewhere. You will choose
at least one (but possibly all three) of the solutions to present as
your proposed plan for implementation in your Action Research Proposal.
In addition to your description of the three possible solutions, select
one or more of the solutions for your proposed implementation and
describe why you chose the specific solution(s) and explain in detail
the steps you will take to implement that solution. Be sure to include your brainstorming map when you upload your ideas to the discussion board.Reference Efron, S. E., & Ravid, R. (2013). Action research in education: A practical guide. New York, NY: Guilford Press.

final statement analysis for IBM
Option 1: Final Statement Analysis, Part OneCalculations due this week and a 4- to 6-page essay due next week in Module 8. While the calculation requirements of this assignment are important, equally important are your discussion and analysis of the quantitative results. You will submit two documents: 1) a spreadsheet containing your horizontal and vertical analysis (and perhaps your ratios) in Module 7 and 2) a word document containing your essay in Module 8. You will submit both parts separately. See the Portfolio Project Part One and Part Two grading rubrics, located in the Module 7 and Module 8 folders.Directions:Choose a publicly traded company(IBM) and perform an expanded analysis on the financial statements. Use the most current 10K statements available on SEC or annual statements in Yahoo Finance. Complete the following for your chosen firm in an Excel spreadsheet:Horizontal and vertical analysis of the income statements for the past three years (all yearly balances set as a percentage of total revenues for that year).Horizontal and vertical analysis of the balance sheets for the past three years (all yearly balances set as a percentage of total assets for that year).Ratio analysis (eight ratios of your choosing) for the past three years PLUS a measurement for the creditworthiness of your firm as measured by Altman’s Z-score. Note that if you used your chosen firm for our ratio-related discussion posts, then you MUST also present industry-average ratios or current year competitor ratios for your ratio analysis. Comparing your firm’s ratios to a close competitor or an industry-average ratio makes your analysis much more meaningful. If you understand the financial statements, then the horizontal and vertical analysis should be rather intuitive. For example, if you see sales rise by 20%, then shouldn’t you also see net income rise by 20% or more if the managers are effective at controlling costs? If you see sales rise by 20% and assets rise by 40%, you have to ask why this is happening. It would appear that assets have risen too far given the sales that are generated from those assets—why did this occur? You may have to research that type of question and discuss it in your analysis. Review both videos: Performing Vertical Analysis using Excel and Performing Horizontal Analysis using Excel, which demonstrate the completion of vertical and horizontal analysis using Excel. If you would like some additional guidance on the spreadsheet requirement of the portfolio project, please watch the video. Note that the video does not discuss adding the 8 required ratios to your spreadsheet; however, you are required to submit your company ratios on this spreadsheet as well as the vertical/horizontal analysis. As always, your instructor is available for follow-up questions. You’ve had some experience with financial ratios through the Discussion Board. Your instructor suggests that you start your ratio analysis with the four ratios found in the DuPont equation. If you discover a weakness in one component of the DuPont ratios, then it would make sense to look at ratios that are closely related to the troublesome ratio. For example, if you discover that the asset turnover is declining over time, then take a look at some related ratios such as the inventory turnover rate or the average collection period. If you discover that the equity multiplier is increasing (indicating greater reliance on debt), then look at some related ratios such as the debt ratio or times interest earned. These ratios are discussed in our textbook, even though you may not have been assigned to thoroughly read the chapters. Finally, read through the Portfolio Project Part One Grading Rubric, located in the Module 7 folder, that will be used to grade your assignment—you will get a feeling for expectations by doing so. Your instructor is here to help you through this project. If you have questions, please let your instructor know. He or she may be willing to take a quick look at your horizontal and vertical analysis to give you feedback in advance since you will not have had much experience on that calculation prior to the project. Always communicate right away with your instructor when you need assistance!

Hi, please read it carefully and i will upload the case in attachment.CASE WRITE-UPSThe case study is a fundamental learning method as the business discipline is by nature an applied science. First, you skim a case for the basic facts: What company? Who are the principal actors? What are the key events? Then, go back and reread the case carefully with a focus on defining the challenge(s)/problem(s) to be addressed. In general, there are no “right” or “wrong” answers for a specific case – different approaches and insights are possible, depending on your perspective and approach. However, application of knowledge and analytical models we cover in this course is an essential part of the case analysis. Regardless of your approach, I will expect you to draw logical conclusions and (if appropriate) make recommendations that: (a) address the identified issues; (b) follow logically from your analysis and conclusions; and (c) make sense (are feasible) in the context of the case situation. In short, case analysis assignments are designed to evaluate and develop your skills in:Identifying key issues (decisions or actions required in a given situation; description of the challenge(s) to be addressed)Analyzing business situations (choosing appropriate analytical tools/frameworks from those introduced in the course; understanding the organizational and environmental contexts, identifying and analyzing opportunities and threats, and competitive advantages and disadvantages; and evaluating options)Recommending specific strategies and actions (to address the identified strategic issues). The length of each case analysis report should be approximately 3 to 4 pages, double spaced, including figures, tables, and references. In your case write-up, choose and answer at least 2 Case Discussion Questions provided with the case in the textbook. Make sure that the report is divided into sections in a logical manner.*Note* please do not copy from any website and make it in your words
