Description

For this assignment, you will write a paper reflecting on your learning experience about the overall methods of Implementation and Maintenance as the last two phases of the systems development life cycle.

Paper Guidelines
Create a Microsoft Word document in which you will:
Type a 4-7 page reflection paper (not including a title page or reference page).
Use APA style, one-inch margins, double spaced, use a“12” point font (Arial or Times New Roman).
Include appropriate references (citations where necessary).

Paper Components
Reflection will include:
• A summary of the individual learning experiences about the overall methods of implementation and maintenance.

• A description of the process of coding, testing, and converting an organizational information system.

• An outline of the organizational information system and how this system is easily divided for projects.

• A comparison of the many modes available for organizational information system training (Note: also include self-training and electronic performance support systems).

• An analysis of threats to system security and remedies that can be applied and examples of how traditional implementation issues apply to electronic commerce applications.

• An analysis about the methods of implementation and maintenance and the skills that students need to develop or improve upon for future work on Systems Analysis and Design Projects. For example, process of coding, testing, preparing a test plan for an information system, understanding the many modes available for organizational information system training, understand why implementation sometimes fails, and understand the many threats.

A summary of the individual learning experiences about the overall methods of
implementation and maintenance
I found the overall methods of implementation and maintenance stages of systems
development life cycle to be very crucial in helping an organization to achieve its goals. I learned
that the implementation stage entails programming, testing, conversion, installation,
documentation, and training. Furthermore, through the overall methods of implementation, I
experienced that it is easy to identify the different omissions and errors that might have occurred
in the stages of analysis and design. I was as well able to recognize that it is through the
implementation phase that a new system is constructed from the scratch or can as well be
developed from the existing one. It is thus in the implementation stage that the system design is
converted into a dependable, operational system, evaluated and then introduced into the daily use
of an organization.
In regard to maintenance and support as the phase in the life cycle of systems
development, I have learnt the need to modify the components or features of the information
system after implementation in order to correct faults, enhance performance, and adapt to a
changed environment. I have experienced that maintenance allows for the restoration of a thing
to its original state while support and enhancement helps add the capability of the system
through integrating new requirements. Therefore, it is evident that through corrective system
maintenance, the users are able to conduct the correction and repairing of the leftover issues.
Furthermore, I have learnt that the adaptive maintenance allows the users of a system to replace
the programs’ functions while the perfective maintenance makes the users to enhance or modify
the programs in order to match the needed changes and requirements (Rainer et al., 2014).

Therefore, the implementation and maintenance phases of the system development are very
essential in any an organization
A description of the process of coding, testing, and converting an organizational
information system
The process of coding and programming entails the conversion of the physical design
into software. It is during coding that the programmers turn the processes, outputs, and inputs
highlighted in the design into actual software applications. Therefore, coding involves the
conversion of the physical design specification into ope...
