(a) Suppose you only want to keep fish that are in the top 20% as far as weight is concerned. What is the minimum weight of a keeper? Round your answer to 2 decimal places. 

(b) Suppose you want to mount a fish if it is in the top 0.5% of those in the lake. What is the minimum weight of a bass to be mounted? Round your answer to 2 decimal places.

We have the mean ,m=2.6 and standard deviation ,d=0.9

a)We have to find the minimum value of x  such that P(x<k)=.8

So the z score corresponding to probability=0.8,from the normal distribution table is .8416

Therefore

(x-m)/d=.8416

(x-2.6)/.9 =.8416

x=3.36(answer)=>Minimum

b)The top .5% means the minimum value is the maximum for the probability value 1-.5% =.995

So,probability,P=.995

The z score=2.5758

Using

(x-2.6)/.9 =2.5758

x=4.92(answer)=>MInimum weight
