Naomi needed to spend some time researching about the company through their website
to be in a better position to answer all the questions pertaining to the company she was
interviewing with. She also did not go through the job description, and it was necessary for her to
read the job description line by line to understand the responsibilities and qualifications required.
She should have written the interview questions beforehand and practiced them before the
interview as well as coming up with her own questions to ask at the end of the interview. Being
nervous is a common feeling that anyone who has gone through the interview process can relate
to but practicing in advance can help cool the nervousness.
In most cases being invited for a second interview means that the employer is considering
you for the position and Naomi being invited for another interview only meant that she had the
potential of getting the job in terms of her qualification and experience. Going through the
interview process can seem difficult, and every candidate can attest to this like in the case of
Naomi because of being nervous, but the employer can figure this out and schedule for the
second interview to make the candidate feel more relaxed (Donna J Yena, 2014).
Naomi brainstormed to come up with the best option before she changed careers by
asking herself a lot of questions; for instance, what is the best that could happen is she took up
the post. There was also a consideration on how the career will fulfill her as a person; for
example, she would meet new people and also work from home meaning that it was the right
decision...
