Description

Locate a standardized measurement instrument used in your specialization or area of interest, and then complete a critique. There are a few different ways to locate a measurement instrument with published psychometrics. First, review the NCU Library’s Tests and Measurements guide which will walk you through how to search for a measurement instrument. Use the information found in the guide to locate a test instrument either by 1) using the Roadrunner Search to identify a measurement instrument used in a peer-reviewed study you have read, and then use the reference list to find its origin, 2) using one of the library databases listed in the guide to identify a test instrument, or 3) lastly, you might try searching for a commercially published test or measurement or information about them on the Internet.

The standardized measurement instrument used in the critique must be located from a scholarly source containing validity and reliability information. Copy the Measurement Instrument Critique Template below into a Word document, and then complete each section:

Disorders. This is the 4th edition. This test has been validated as an evaluation instrument that is
used for evaluating mental disorders for patients in psychiatric populations. The test has also
been used effectively among general medical populations. Other places the test has been used is
among PC patients.
