Solve Equations With Coefficients
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
To isolate y (aka solve for y) you need to divide by the coefficient 5/7.
Divide by 5/7 on both sides so the equation now looks like this...
(5/7)y/(5/7)=(13/14)/(5/7) The coefficient in front of y will disappear now because any number divided by itself is 1.
y=(13/14)/(5/7) When you divide by a fraction (5/7) it is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal (7/5).
y=(13/14)*(7/5) Now just multiply the numerators together and then multiply the denominators together.
This is the answer.
