Furthermore, a police officer relates to peace because their main mission when they go out on duty is to prevent violence and to create freedom from fear of violence between individuals and groups in the society. Executive summary
The preferred occupation is a police officer. There are various police officers who work
in various departments, and who have various roles to play. The most important role, however, is
maintaining law and order in society. As per a survey conducted in 2017, the number of police
officers was 69000. This means around 188 police officers for every 100,000 Canadians. The
qualifications for one to be considered for a position as a police officer vary according to
provinces. An example is that of Ontario province police that requires one to be eighteen years
and above, willingness to serve anywhere in the province, one must have no criminal record,
among others. People join the police force because of various factors that interest them. Some
are passionate about justice, some admire the respect and admiration that comes with the
profession, and some seek financial independence, among other reasons. This career has affected
positively in the growth of nations over the years. Without police officers, the world would know
no peace, economic growth would be slow due to fear and insecurity issues. An excessive
number of police officers would also mean fear to even the innocent civilians who would be
afraid to carry out their duties peacefully for fear of arrest. Those in this career should be aware
that their work is to make sure there is among other benefits, peace implications. Therefore, this
calls for dedication, transparency, diligence, commitment and above all, fairness to ensure justice
prevails. No justice, no peace.
