Introduction
The capital city of Australia in Brisbane with a population of 200 million approximately, and a
diverse and green climate makes it a beautiful town. The development of sustainable tourism has
grown to be a global concern in its aim of ensuring climate preservation, conservation of natural
resources, and biological preservation. To cover the fundamental requirements of this paper, it is
necessary that we look at the social, environmental, and economic features of the country that
support tourism. The rivers, mountains, beaches, and bays found in the country provide an
additional advantage towards tourism sustainability. The country is rich in sources of water and
energy enable it to supply its tourism industries with adequate water and energy to replenish their
needs. The nation’s heritage as portrayed by the art and architecture found in the city provide a
superb culture that supports tourism practices (Butler, 2007).
Additionally, the resources available in the county provide a natural environment supportive for
tourism activities. The practice of tourism in the country has helped the nation to remain
competitively at the top particularly in position three after Melbourne and Sydney in terms of
popularity. The lively nature widely attracts a lot of tourists and hence enabling economic growth
in the country out of the revenues they receive from the visitors in terms of foreign exchange. The
state’s concern in coming up with a development strategy has enabled it to show a focus on the
promotion of tourism activities. The development plan has outlined a lot of improvements that
involve education and natural environment explication that will contribute towards the
achievement of the planned objectives, and thus this will yield the country a high sustainability
capacity hence improving its tourism activities. The main focus of this paper is to discuss
sustainable tourism in Australia and its impacts on economic, social, and environmental factors.
